1987 EP consists of two strikingly contrasting (Original and Dub) mixes by DBFB, accompanied by three variations: Bosnyak’s Miami mix, Iggy Dope’s remix, and Bellen’s remix.

Direct and galloping, 1987 Original Mix kicks straight into high gear accelerating its heartbeat as it does. Without any hesitation, rhythmic breaks cut through the vibrant melody developing an underlying disco-like vibe making it difficult for the listener to resist dancing when your hips and limbs spontaneously respond to the music.

Murky and much sneakier than the original, Dub mix comes with a true film noir touch. By slowly building up suspense, we are led into a “stalking” theme carrying us through the dark alleys of our minds. Relief from too much suspense is brought by a spring reverb (gloomy hero of the day) which makes the whole thing more playful as if we’ve finally learned to make fun of looming mis(t)ery.

The next three mixes reveal further twists to the “story” conveying the artists’ visions of the original - a driving, breakbeat Miami mix by Bosnyak, UK sound-inspired Iggy Dope’s remix, and Bellen’s frisky, jungle remix.
